big kitty

tshirt / dress: Sportsgirl
sandals: 2 Baia Vista
bag: Lolla Palooza

been wanting a tshirt dress thing for a while. and this literally is a tshirt made dress. i just bough an xl to accommodate for enough derrière covering. but to be safe i am wearing bike shorts underneath. anyway i love the big leopard head. this is definitely more givenchy inspired than my last big kitty top. now. these sandals. i have been looking for a pair of nude-ish coloured sandals for quite some time. so as you do when there is a sale, i compulsively visited zomp in hope that i might actually find something in my size in the many rows of shoes. and as usual the shoes i ended up liking were not on sale. anyway. i'm happy with the purchase. actually. i liked so many of the 2 baia vista sandals. check them out on the link above. oh and look my hair is growing! exciting! even though i'm not sure how long i will let it get to. i'm still bipolar on the topic of my hair. love and hate. but i think mostly love right now. i just want my braces off so i can better judge how old my haircut actually makes me look. as i took my little sister ball dress shopping, all the saleswomen directed their questions to me and then were taken back when they realised i was not in fact going to a school ball. i had mine four. years. ago. let's just hope this means when i'm 35 i'll look 31.
to looking 17.

scanlan stripes

singlet: Scanlan and Theodore
shorts: DKNY (that were once jeans)
shoes: Converse
watch: Marc Jacobs

totally love this singlet which was given to me by my baby sis for christmas. i've worn it a few too many times of late. and  just another present to add to the pile is this watch. holy smokers. i was rather impressed when my boyfriend presented me with this at christmas. it's almost too exciting when you get the thing you were really hoping for. so this little ensemble is how i've been dressing almost exactly for the last couple of weeks. no joke. i think i've worn about 5 variations of this muscle tee/mini short combo. some would say it's too much. others would say you're super cool don't even worry about it. but i mean, is it really outfit repeating if your alternating colours? it would perhaps only be confusing to those colourblind members of the community, and i'd say they're a vast minority. less of an outfit repeater, more of an outfit optimiser i say. now go free and optimise.

airbrush bliss.

one of the most exciting christmas presents i have ever received.
dinair airbrush makeup kit.

so i have used the airbrush only about 3 times now, but so far i have pretty good reviews. you can order the kits online with different option sizes. mine is the studio beauty kit, available for $259 AUD.
this is what is inside:

the first time i put it on i wasn't sure about the finish. i thought it looked a bit powder-y or dry even, and probably would have looked better on someone with oilier skin. however then i put their little 'moist and dewy' finish over the top, and that is really when i feel for the product. it's really easy to use and has all the instructions in the world. and if the dvd isn't enough just visit their website or youtube page to find hundreds of helpful tutorials. now i'm not sure how i feel about doing your entire makeup with airbrush. but perhaps that's some sort of puritan belief not wanting to corrupt the art of brushes and beautiful colours from your favourite brands. i still can't believe you can even put eyeliner on with an airbrush. it seems absurd, but just watch the tutorial! anyway, as far as skin goes it really does sit so well on the skin where you sort of want to question if i'm even wearing makeup, yet you can control the amount of coverage. the trick is not letting too much out at once! or you will, i repeat, will, get a huge spot of colour where you probably didn't want it. oh, and i opted for the kitchen as my vanity considering the huge rays of natural light and therefore better judgement.

overall i'm pretty impressed with dinair. the other plus is that i used only 5 drops of makeup, which is SO much less product than i would ever use with normal foundation. also the product is hypo-allergernic aaand, well this could have been my imagination or some sort of lucky day, but i felt as though my skin looked even better once i took it off. call me crazy but i think it even improved my skin. i don't know maybe i'm taking it too far. but i will report back on that as i continue using it.
so there it is. dinair airbrush kit. models, photographers, brides, i am ready for you!

out of the shadows.

top: Wildfox
skirt: Vintage 80's leather
(other cool options here and here)
shoes: Gorman
(can't find them anywhere new, but if you're desperate  click here)

hello everyone.
a well belated merry christmas and happy new year. i've had such a great holiday and thoroughly enjoyed this festive season. so much so i forgot to update with this post that maddy and i took a few weeks ago now. love this wildfox top, but the only ish (issue) is that it really is as long as a dress, so tucking it in to things can require cutting back on certain movement to keep your shirt from poking out of your skirt. the thing i love about it is the sort of washed over grainy print on the soft brown. kind of the inspiration for the edit of these photos i suppose. i'm looking forward to the photos maddy and i have coming up for you. it seems each blog post now is becoming this mini photoshoot, which makes it a lot more fun i think. in other news, my sister bought me an airbrush makeup set for christmas that i am so excited to start using on people. to be honest i've only used it one family members yet, so i need some shoots/weddings to get me spray happy. i've got a mini review plus before and after for you. and i've also been thinking and planning away for the new super cool blog. i shall see you soon.
