rock and roll

So I'm currently supposed to be finishing my assignment. But I got highly inspired while researching - and not in the way that was helpful. In fact I have managed to get highly distracted... Good work Dan.
So while researching on rock artists from the 50's and 60's I've come across some gorgeous photos. It's amazing how these photos were produced to raw. Today we do everything digital and then try to make it look grungy and cool with editing. Clearly they were cooler than us with their less advanced technology back then. mmm I remember making a new years resolution that I would take more black and white photos - told you I wouldn't stick to it. But here are some for your viewing pleasure anyway. Maybe now I'll be inspired to take some of my own...

Take me back to the fifties any day.

le band

So I've recently started a little cover band with a couple of friends from uni :)
I love these two - Jared and Jackson. We are just getting started, creating a good set list of songs, recorded a demo CD, writing up a band bio and making some little business cards. So along with that we thought we would be super awesome and have a bit of a band photo shoot. Nothing flash. The usual situation for me actually. Venturing to the unoccupied house next door (which has now been bought. darn it.) and snapping a few shots with baby sister the photographer. So these are the photos we produced...

So this is us. We have lots of fun rehearsing too. And by that I mean play a few songs, then get burgers. A good life really. Oh and I am wearing a pair of new shoes that i looove. I'll show you a close up soon, you'll definitely appreciate the detail, not to mention the fact they were on sale.
Another thing - my hair. It's shorter and lighter on the ends. I made some sort of attempt to be cool and take on the balayage (not sure how to spell it) style. Much like Rumi Neely, but evidently way less cool. It actually looks really noticeable/choppy in these photos. you know with the whole contrast thing. mmm. I think I need to get it a little higher.
Enough of my thought process. If you need a fun little cover band (piano, vocals, guitar and drums) for any sort of function, feel free to hire us :) I'll leave you with one of the demo tracks we recorded...

it's may...

Yes that's correct. It is the month of May, and I have been absent for that long.
To be honest I considered never blogging again, in fear of being judged, along with general lack of time/motivation. However there are just some cool things happening lately, and some great clothes I just felt unfair to leave you out of my adventures when we were just getting started.
I could potentially just fill this blog with all the ridiculousness of my life over the last couple of months, but I guess I'll just let it evolve. Although I have started at waapa (well it's almost the end of the Semester which is a bit silly) and I am loving it. Made the best friends, thank Jesus, and just enjoying being a part of music every day. Only down side is the food sich. Aroma cafe just is too expensive for average taste. And the 'food court' may potentially give me food poisoning, and my bag doesn't fit my lunch when I pack it. (I'm yet to get over my bag insecurities and just change to a larger far more convenient bag.)
This lot of photos however is almost completely irrelevant to life at the moment, but it was a good little representation of summer heading to autumn dressing. This little lady, was a vintage 'Chanel' (said in inverted commas due to it's fake nature) dress that I picked up at the vintage markets at the Burlesque Lounge. It did come to my ankles, and in true Dani style, I took it up to well above my knees.
There's something about this outfit that is a bit confused. I think I indulged in just a few too many features, but it did make me feel happy. I guess that's important. mm enough gab. Enjoy some photos after such a long period of absence.
Did I say sorry for that? Because I am. Sorry...

wearing: Sportsgirl hat, Vintage dress, thrifted belt, socks. unkown, and another pair of super cheap shoes from amazon.com. again there's something kind of ugly about them, but kind of cool. maybe it had to do with the fact they're a little big and were $20. meh.

Well I should be updating tomorrow too.
Yeah, look I have a couple of posts prepared to hopefully redeem myself!
