black and blue

So I haven't updated in a while. Which is poor form considering I was going so well. I've been working a lot lately so I haven't been on the computer as much, or in front of the camera. However the other day I did a photoshoot with my friend Lance. My official job title was makeup artist, hair artist, and stylist. It was lots of fun, and the photos look amazing. I'll show you them soon. Promise. Once they're edited etc etc. The location was also amazing. It's been literally next door to me my whole life (in Perth). It now seems the house next door is for sale and unoccupied so we ventured in to the back yard to find some amazing doors, brick walls, three broken down buggies and a rugged shed. Honestly it's the coolest place.
Anyway, these photos feature a gorgeous top that I got from Auckland. The boutique was amazing and expensive, I wish I could have bought more. mm ohwell. Enjoy the autumn inspired photos (it was particularly cold)...

wearing: ruby top. scanlan & theodore belt. insight jeans. peeptoe boots.

I've been thinking about how I can extend my wardrobe. I hate having things folded and chucked and squished. I want to put all my shoes out where I can see them and have all my clothes in one wardrobe (I have more clothes in the wardrobe next door) however I do like the white look of my wardrobe. But any suggestions? I think I want a full wall of exposed clothing and shoes :) mm just another thing to ponder...

Well have a great day. And for all the Aussies...Happy Australia Day :)

sunday best.

So the other day I went to this gorgeous boutique near my house called Coco & Lola. I went there after lunch with my baby sister and my mamma. I have a post from that day, but I'm kind of busting to show you this new top that I got. It's bec and bridge, and 30% off. Oh I love those two things in the same sentence.
After church (and of course a little Japanese) Maddy and I drove around to find a beautiful spot to take a photo. And this house that was so close to the river on a quiet little street was so gorgeous. So that's the spot. And yes, I wore this to church. Whoever said churchgoers wore high waisted skirts, lace up shoes, and fully buttoned blouses obviously haven't been in a while. Besides, I'd happily wear that ensemble.
Talk to you a little more about the store next time, and show you purchases etc etc.

wearing: bec and bridge denim shirt. mink pink dress. and good ol havaiana thongs.
With love and exposed shoulders...

introducing charlie black...

So this is the dress that I got for my bible college graduation last year. I never got to show you it, as I don't have any lovely photos of me wearing it. So I just put it on for the sake of showing you how gorgeous it is. I feels so light and I just want to swish every time I put it on. It was hard to get Charlie out of the camera in these photos, but I'd say he only makes them that much better. I'm also wearing my favourite lipstick by NARS ironically called 'funny face'. So pretty.

Mmm so Chictopia. Should have done it a long time ago. I first signed up for lookbook, and it's just so depressing. Seems I have no style, and it is impossible for me to exceed 3 hypes. 3 DARN IT! Ah, so on Chictopia I have had a lott of loving. So thank you so much if you have been on and voted for me etc. It has managed to make me excited once again about this whole blogging thing. So excited I think I'll be updating every week. Now there's some exciting news for those of you who like to read this blog :)

And another thing. I saw this short documentary on The Sartorialist. If you haven't already seen his amazing blog just click right here and see. He is just a wonderful photographer, and he catches so many of the offbeats of fashion that make it just a little exciting. I love that he doesn't just capture what's in season or in trend, but he manages to capture someone's attitude and personal style which really the thing that makes their outfit. So if you want to check it out, just click here. Oh and the filming looks amazing on the video too. Oh I love creative people..
Anyway, on to the pictures...

I told you he was cute..
My dress is from Bettina Liano. And my shoes, believe it or not, are by Lipstick. I've never liked any of their shoes to be honest, but these ones I loove. Most probably majority of my love for them was their price - $90. Not to mention they are so comfy. Go get some! And my bow is from Sportsgirl.
And if you haven't swished around in a silk chiffon ruffled skirt lately, I highly recommend it.

made in italy...

I love these new shoes that I got for Christmas. The fact that they're tan makes it okay for a little white girl like me to wear them alone. They're so soft and lovely, and well, I like them :) This top is also an addition from my Post Christmas shopping - and yes you guessed it - not on sale. Oh and this belt I got from my Aunty for Christmas. Such a pretty little addition to any normal outfit. Hope you're all loving my consistent blogging. Knowing me it won't last long...

Wearing: NEUW cropped shirt, Peter Lang belt, vintage Ralph Lauren jeans turned to shorts, and Nylon oxford shoes. The bracelet is from my sister's wardrobe and the ring is from ASOS :)

another uneven hemline...

This top (that is actually a dress far too short and tight to be worn in public) I got from ASOS a long time ago. I love the lace up back, but as far as comfort etc, it doesn't do too well. The skirt hem is already mullet-like, but I did tuck it in the front to make an even more drastic slant. The wedges are from my dear boyfriend for Christmas. Such a good boy :)

Wearing: ASOS dress (as top), Bettina Liano skirt, Clover belt (that was one of my favourite Christmas presents), and Peeptoe wedges (yet another fav.)
And guess what...another post on the way.

seventh wonderland...

So tonight I took multiple photos of some pieces that I've really been wanting to show you, but I thought I'd put a new one up everyday, you know, for that element of surprise. You see, I have this small problem, that every time I leave my house to go somewhere even slightly significant, and I dress myself even slightly well, I never seem to have a. my camera or b. my photographer. So I end up putting on the clothes at a later date, or coming home from that small outing, and finding a remotely well lit area of my dull house, and as a result, the photos aren't usually too exciting. So I will try and make more of an effort to take photos before, during, or immediately after I leave my house. So on to the dress..

This was another Post Christmas Sale purchase - and again, not on sale (literally nothing I bought at these so called 'sales' was actually on sale). mm I love how I feel in this dress. Like I have some sort of flower power. Finding an appropriate slip to go underneath was hard though, and this one requires all nude underwear which can be a nuisance at times. Another thing - this whole head scarf idea came to me while discussing that crossed headband trend with Bella. As she was dressing as an Indian for NYE we thought it would have been handy if we had indulged in that urban turban trend and decided that it just didn't look good on us. But something compelled me to try it with a few old scarves of my mamma's, and actually, I really like it. So Anna(bella) - go and try it!
Wow, enough of the gab...

wearing: seventh wonderland dress, scarf that my mother got in india some years ago, and an assortment of jewellery - mostly from Lo Boudoir. Oh and i felt best in this dress with no footwear. I'm sure you'll agree. See you tomorrow - that's right - tomorrow :)

one teaspoon...

One of the things I purchased at the Post Christmas sales (and typically one of the only things not on sale.) These OneTeaspoon shorts are so much fun and a perfect little shape. The setting bellow depicts most of my holiday time - on my bed, dressed to go nowhere, on my macbook. The only thing you can't see in this photo is my pile of clothes in the corner, stack of DVDs, and empty chip packets. That depicts what else I have done these holidays. Ah the good life...

Wearing: marcs singlet. oneteaspoon shorts. mickey mouse watch. and an assortment of jewelery, including those awesome four ring set that I love to wear stuck on the top half on my finger. I must invest in some more of these 'too small sized' rings as it makes me want to show off my hands even if I have scratched half of my nail polish off :) Until next time, you too have fun biting your nail polish off.

holidays...

Well hello there, and happy new year :)
So there will certainly be some outfit posts on the way. However, in the meantime, a few, rather spontaneous photos from the last week or so. Hope you have all enjoyed your holidays and make many wishful resolutions that we are sure to forget in approximately 1 month - if that. One of mine - take more black and white photos. Seems simple enough...

and to not leave you completely clueless...
1. the table setting at christmas. 2. fun lighting from new years gathering. 3. one of the other photos from our parent's christmas present. 4. beautiful sunsets and amazing coloured trees. 5. indian inspired makeup that i had rather a lot of fun with for bella's new years celebrations. 6. late night swims are so good. 7. charlie resuming his usual spot with a schmacko under the tree.
Talk soon..
